Meet the 19 students who will make up the Class of 2018. Over the next few weeks, we’ll highlight three incoming students at a time. Today: Janel Wong, Jenil Gogari, and Katarina Yee.
Born in the US and raised in Hong Kong, Janel is an interaction designer with experience in product innovation, industrial design, and product design. Upon graduation, from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, she joined Zixag as a bag designer where she successfully launched two collections before beginning work for startup Casetify. There she focused on customized tech accessories.
At SVA, Janel is excited to combine her industrial design background with interaction design to truly communicate with users physically, digitally, and emotionally. She hopes to find ways to create products that can translate the intuitive interaction between human and the environment.
Jenil Gogari is a guy with passion for technology and innovation. He has been interested in technology from a young age, building his first website at 17 and taking on freelance projects at 18 years old. Jenil received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from University of Mumbai.
Jenil is excited to draw on his raw creativity and determination to continue to create innovative experiences while at SVA. When he’s not designing, Jenil enjoys time exploring the world, experimenting, traveling, volunteering, watching movies, and listening to music.
Katarina loves using design to make joyful connections. She has built a career in nonprofit communications, most recently at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, where she led the redesign of its first responsive website and the launch of its 75th anniversary timeline. Katarina grew up in Boston and earned a Bachelor's degree in journalism from Emerson College. She'll bike just about anywhere.
