Lab-Digital Input & Output

Parts

  • Arduino board
  • USB cable
  • breadboard
  • hook-up wire
  • LEDs
  • 10K Ohm resistor
  • momentary switch

Get Ready

Read and follow the instructions in Getting Started with Arduino, Chapter 3:

  1. Install Arduino on your computer
  2. Install the drivers for USB to talk to the Arduino board
  3. Select the proper serial port to communicate with your Arduino board

Digital Input & Output

Read and follow the instructions in Getting Started with Arduino Chapter 4:

  1. Blink an LED
  2. Control an LED with a momentary switch
  3. Improve control to make the switch usable

Build A Switch

Make your own switch using found materials and use it to control the digital input/output circuit. Anything touching metal to metal will work so be creative and think physically! You are encouraged to change the circuit and programming to suit your purposes. Have yourself some fun.
