Some projects are ten years in the making.

Athletics is excited to share the story of Image of the Studio, an exhibition co-curated with the Herb Lubalin Study Center at the Cooper Union. The show was on display at the 41 Cooper Gallery October 1–28, 2013 and remains archived at imageofthestudio.com.

The exhibition is a reflection of the studio's commitment to being a collaborative environment comprised of designers, technologists and strategic thinkers. Since 2004 Athletics has strived to build a business that revolves around solving design problems that combine aesthetic, technological, and experiential challenges.

They believe their studio's best work combines theory and practice; thinking and doing; design and technology. It's also found in chasing their own ambitions and fostering a sense of authorship among studio members. By committing to efforts like Image of the Studio they learn to balance self-initiated projects alongside client work, and push their studio's capabilities and culture.

In discussing the process and team that brought the exhibition to life, Athletics also hopes to shed light on how their studio evolved to include such a range of talented, complementary, and ambitious individuals. Because, just as they're proud of Image of the Studio, they're equally proud of the long game required to establish the studio practice they enjoy today.
