Alex Wright : Author; Director of User Experience Research, The New York Times
Alex Wright is the Director of User Experience Research at The New York Times and the author of Glut: Mastering Information Through the Ages. Before coming to the Times in 2007, Alex spent five years working as an independent researcher, writer and designer for clients. Previously, he held positions as VP of User Experience at Phoenix Pop and Senior Manager of User Experience at IBM.

Alex’s work has won numerous industry awards, including a Webby nomination, Cool Site of the Year award and an American Graphic Design Award.
Alex has written widely for various publications and is currently the (P)reviews editor for Interactions magazine. A popular speaker, he has given presentations at conferences and industry events including The Long Now Foundation, Gartner Group, Seybold, IxDA, SXSW and the ASIS&T Information Architecture Summit. He has lectured at UC-Berkeley, The Institute of Design-Chicago, The Foreign Policy Research Institute and the Stanford Publishing Institute.
He has also completed graduate coursework in usability engineering at UC-Berkeley and in journalism at Harvard University.
