Jodi Leo
Empathy is the skill she seeks to cultivate most in students and designers. As a Principal Designer at the Fidelity Investments Web Group, she simplified dozens of complex transactions for millions of Fidelity’s users. Not so much the bankers or active traders, rather the everyday people who have retirement plans. The highlight resulted in a patented workflow that has helped 20-million+ Americans save for a better retirement.
As a consultant and director of design at agencies, Jodi has blended problem solving with empathy and transparency to fold research seamlessly into the design process. Recognizing that Iteration is power when creating successful interaction and product design, she has showed teams at both startups and Fortune 100 companies how to work user input into their iteration and design. In her latest role as Director of User Experience at Bolt | Peters, she mastered lean research methods and improved product designs for clients such as New York Times, Lexus, vmware, and Wiley Publishing.
This year, Jodi was one of 12 designers selected at the second annual UX4Good, a service-design initiative that aimed to re-imagine elements of the music ecosystem in New Orleans to improve the quality of life for its musicians.
