Nicole Fenton is a writer, editor, researcher, and strategist. She currently leads the content design team at 18F, the government’s in-house design and technology consultancy. At the School of Visual Arts, she teaches strategic writing to prepare first-year students for their theses.
Nicole is the coauthor of Nicely Said: Writing for the Web with Style and Purpose and the editor of several books about design.
Previously, she was an independent consultant, working with startups, nonprofits, and publishers on web and editorial projects of all sizes. She has worked at Facebook, Lab Zero, and Mule Design in San Francisco. She started her professional writing practice at Apple, where she served as communications lead for five years.
Nicole studied English and French at the University of Texas at Austin, and now lives and works in Brooklyn.
