Brooklyn Cartografix

By using Mapbox’s TileMill software to convert OpenStreetMap shapefile data into SVG format, I was able to isolate elements of Brooklyn’s topography and turn those elements into t-shirt designs. These designs feature Brooklyn’s parks and waterways, and sales of the shirts benefit relevant local nonprofits, such as the Gowanus Canal Alliance, the Newtown Creek Conservancy, the Prospect Park Alliance, and Transportation Alternatives.
