Bio

Sarah is a systems thinker, and has never met an organizational structure she didn’t want to explore.

She graduated from NYU’s Gallatin School in 2010 with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies. Her degree focused on qualitative and quantitative behavioral analysis, including courses in game theory, economics, cognitive psychology, social software, political science, and sociolinguistics.

Sarah began her professional career as a strategic digital consultant, utilizing user-focused research, iterative technical development, and theories of online behavior. After a brief stint as a data analyst she joined a non-profit research organization to study the impact of narrative entertainment on American culture. Her work there required synthesizing ideas from fields as disparate as sentiment analysis, filmmaking, and strategic social outreach. She has also helped to develop new methods for generating and evaluating the effects of interactive, participatory narratives.

Having lived in locations as rural as northern Minnesota and as densely populated as Lower Manhattan, Sarah has a deep appreciation for the effects of environment. Her favorite thing to think about is how the physical arrangement of cities and public spaces affect our individual and collective behavior.
