Inspired by MFA Interaction Design’s open house, Matt and Sunnie designed an HTML+Javascript website that creates a virtual tour experience of the department studio space for new visitors.
Using the Google Maps API, they created a custom map in where a visitor is first introduced to the tour. In this first interaction the map highlights popular spots frequented by IxD students that include restaurants, shops, and cultural institutions. Clicking on the SVA logo marker activates an info box where visitors are directed to a link of the virtual walkthrough in the studio. Scrolling down the website leads the visitor through the studio, further presenting data and information about regions of interest and common spaces at IxD.
