ShowerSmart is a bath mat with built-in timer. Because the mat is located outside the shower, it helps encourage people to turn off the water and exit the shower before turning it off. ShowerSmart is tied to an app that allows its owner to track shower habits and see how much water is saved over time. It’s a device for households that want to conserve water in order to save time, money, and the environment.
This was an exercise in rapid prototyping. Ideas and sketches were generated over a one week period. The video was shot on an iPhone in about an hour, and edited in one afternoon.
