John Finley : Class of 2011

John Finley

John is an interaction designer and software developer hailing from Chicago, Illinois. John has held a number of interesting positions with a number of interesting employers, including radio deejay, public transit safety inspector, and tour guide.

In 2007, he graduated with a degree in Computer Information Systems from John Carroll University. He currently works at Centro, where he develops and designs web software.

Selected Projects

  • Cybernetics Final

    Students were required to critique a pre-existing interactive system of their own choosing by applying the models learned in class.

  • Entrepreneurial Design Final

    Students present product and service design solutions that aim to connect personal passions with socially conscious endeavors. Or, outline a viable product in the form of a pitch deck.

  • Information Visualization

    Students were asked to visualize a section within the permanent collection at MoMA or the Met. Or, they may visualize a single sporting event or season. Or, a personal collection of their choosing.

  • Interactive User Experience on The High Line

    Students were asked to create a networked, mobile or interactive installation that enhances or extends the experience of the High Line park in NYC.

  • Public Interfaces Final

    Students had the task to critically examine interaction design for public spaces.

  • Prototyping User Experiences/Research Methods Final

    Students created prototypes based on the theme of augmented mindfulness.
