Joonseo Bae : Class of 2013

Joonseo Bae

Joonseo was born and raised in Korea and moved to Barrington, Rhode Island in her 9th grade. Then she went to Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. In college, she majored in Art History and Visual Arts. Throughout her college years, she wanted to go to a graduate school for fine art and become an artist… until her senior year. While she was working on her thesis for the visual arts part of her major, she realized the great potential of effective communication, and how it could possibly change the world. She started looking and found graphic design. After college, she moved back to Rhode Island to study graphic design at Rhode Island School of Design. While she was studying graphic design, she learned that when the communication meets interaction (between people or people and information) the effectiveness is magnified. That is when she found SVA IXD Program. She hopes that her pursuit in interaction design at SVA IXD would fulfill what she always thinks is most important: making small changes to make a big change.
