Michael Katayama : Class of 2011
Michael hails from the west coast, growing up in Portland, Oregon, and then living in Seattle, Washington, where he designed for the web at MSN and worked on exhibits and graphics for the Wing Luke Asian Museum. Currently, he lives in Los Angeles where he was a Visual Designer for Yellowpages.com, The Los Angeles Times, and Move.com.
In his spare time, he is a Kundalini Yoga Teacher and is trying to figure out how to play a harmonium that he recently purchased.

- Fundamentals Studios Final
Students began their process by exploring project ideas within the themes of memory, behavior, politeness and sharing.

- Information Visualization
Students were asked to visualize a section within the permanent collection at MoMA or the Met. Or, they may visualize a single sporting event or season. Or, a personal collection of their choosing.

- Interactive User Experience on The High Line
Students were asked to create a networked, mobile or interactive installation that enhances or extends the experience of the High Line park in NYC.

- Prototyping User Experiences/Research Methods Final
Students created prototypes based on the theme of augmented mindfulness.
