Summer Intensive in Interaction Design
Spend your evenings in a deep exploration of interaction design at the School of Visual Arts.
Structure
Courses take place July 5 - 29 in the evenings, 6-9PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday over the course of one month. In addition to evening classes, the summer program includes access to the studio and optional once-per-week tours to New York design studios. Note that these courses are not for credit.
Space
Situated on its own floor of a light-filled building in the Flatiron District, the MFA Interaction Design space has the workflow of interaction designers in mind. Students work individually or collaboratively in a loft-like space where they have a personal studio area for their two-year residency in the program. The access to the department weekdays and collaborative areas and walls designed for sketching all ensure that the department is a central point of collaboration.
Fee
You can register for one course, a combination, or all three. The cost of one course is $1,200, or $3,000 for the full Summer Intensive.
International Students
Unfortunately, SVA is not authorized to issue I-20s for international students who wish to register for these not-for-credit courses. Applicants should secure their own means of entering the U.S., and you are encouraged to contact the U.S. Consulate in your home country for assistance.

REGISTRATION CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
To withdraw from a non-credit Summer Intensive course in interaction design, you may do so by emailing your request to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Failure to complete a course does not constitute official withdrawal, nor does notification to the instructor, nor does lack of attendance, nor does dissatisfaction with a course. A written notice of withdrawal must be received before the first class session for the student to receive 100% tuition refund. There will be no refunds after the start of the first class session.
All refunds for payment made by American Express, Discover, JCB, MasterCard or Visa will be credited to the appropriate credit card account. Payment made by check or money order will be refunded by check, payable to the registrant. Processing of refunds takes approximately four weeks.

Fall Lecture Series
This fall, the MFA Interaction Design Department welcomes visiting lectures in an intimate once-a-month series to inspire conversation, pursue change, and incite creation.
