Meet the 16 students who will make up the Class of 2020. Today we introduce you to the final four incoming students: Minjung Kim, Olivia Greco, Ravi Seethapathy, and Sofia Von Hauske Valtierra.
Minjung is a user interface designer with several years of experience in iOS and Android. Her work and research provides in-depth analysis on the intersection between the future physical objects and humans.
Her role in the User Interface Team of LINE, NAVER corporation was to create prototypes of interface elements. She has a bachelor's degree in visual communication design.
Minjung is good at supporting, understanding, and problem-solving. She believes UX and UI designers should understand the human mind.
Olivia believes that her role as a designer is to have a unique awareness of creative outlets that can transcend traditional problem-solving. After spending three years designing in the healthcare marketing space, Olivia decided to study interaction design to explore how human-centered design can engage diverse audiences and influence social change on a larger scale.
In her free time, you can find Olivia exploring new food, listening to her favorite podcasts, and training for her next marathon.
A graduate in Computer Technology, Ravi worked for the past 13 years in various capacities at Torry Harris. He helped form the organization's Design and User Experience team, re-focussing the organization's core around design and its importance across service delivery. Ravi's earliest forays into design were spurred on by an interest in the technology and design of Formula 1. A photographer in his spare time, weekends are spent documenting life in various hill stations in and around Coimbatore.
Sofia was born and raised in Mexico City before she moved to New York City to obtain a BFA in Product Design from Parsons The New School for Design. She is passionate about technology and innovation, always trying to get her hands on the latest gadgets. While working in the industrial design field, at Atlason Studio and later Glo Science, she gained experience in various industries ranging from furniture and home accessories to dental hygiene products.
Sofia believes that designers are sensitive to users being part of the process that turns desire and intuition into something tangible. Through interaction design, she hopes to become a translator between makers and users and to create bridges between these two elements to play a part in the creation of human experiences.
