Information From SVA About the Coronavirus

Response to the coronavirus and resources you need

On Friday, March 20, 2020 New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo ordered all nonessential employees in New York State to cease reporting to workplaces. All SVA buildings, except residence halls, were closed on Monday, March 23, at 5:00pm, to everyone but essential employees in security, facilities, office services and Residence Life. All other employees are to continue working remotely until further notice.

All graduate classes are online through the rest of the 2020 spring semester.

MFA Interaction Design will not hold any summer classes, the Summer Intensive, in 2020.

Browse the main SVA website for updates and more information about protecting your health and well-being.

SVA is closely monitoring the outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). A special task force comprising the College’s Emergency Management Committee and other key administrative departments is rapidly responding to the situation and committed to providing the latest information about what SVA is doing to protect the community and plan for the future. SVA leadership is in contact with health authorities at the New York State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for guidance.
