September 2011 marked a move for the department.
After months of planning sessions with feedback from students, faculty, and staff, Andrea Steele and Andrew Diebel, masterful and thoughtful architects of ANDarchitects, unveiled the department’s new home.
The MFA Interaction Design department is now in its new location, and we rejoiced. The celebration was attended by students, faculty, staff, and friends of the department. A toast from co-founders, Steve Heller and Liz Danzico, self-guided tours throughout the studio, a delightful variety of donuts from BabyCakes NYC, inspired whiteboard drawings of faculty, and a steady stream of Terrazzo Prosecco kept guests satisfied.

I created some illustrations to document the event. As the day fell on New York’s Fashion Week, it seemed appropriate to draw people as though they were on the runway.
A recap:
In the words of one student, “Thanks, Andrea and Andrew! We love the new studio; thanks for listening to feedback from last year.
