Dinner Calling

“Design and the Service Experience,” a second-year course, examines the increasing need for the improvement of services and the development of service innovations. Working individually and in groups, students will address the challenges and opportunities in designing for the service sector through methods such as blueprinting, service enactment, and front- and back-stage processing.

Barbara deWilde, Tom Harman, Sana Rao, and Tash Wong created Dinner Calling:

Dinner Calling is a service that seeks to promote open and active conversations through the organization of monthly dinners. By first focusing on independent workers, we hope to create a space for feedback and new ideas. Based on our research, the ideas presented in this service hope to promote self-awareness, a sense of commitment to one’s purpose, and also promote socializing as a positive and necessary component of one’s life.
