Lesson #3 in Interaction Design: Work with an argument

Lesson #3: Work with an argument.

John Finley, Class of 2011

It’s great to have ideas, but that shouldn’t be where you stop. Your job doesn’t end when you click “save” or when you step away from the whiteboard. Your idea is going to need you selling it to the people who make the decisions. And it’s the particularly bold ideas that need the most support.

Once you’ve convinced yourself, you need to convince your team, your management, and ultimately your customer. Working with an argument about why your idea works and having the ability to present that argument to a room full of strangers are great skills to have.
