Steven Heller, MFA Interaction Design co-founder and author and editor of more than 130 books on graphic design, satiric art, and popular culture, is honored as “Design Mind“ by the Smithsonian’s Cooper Hewitt, National Design Museum in the 2011 National Design Awards. The award recognizes “a visionary who has effected a paradigm shift in design thinking or practice through writing, research and scholarship.”

Local Projects, whose founder and principal is Jake Barton and senior interaction designer is Ian Curry, is named a finalist in the interaction design category for the second year in a row.
