Genevieve Hoffman presents work completed during her summer residency with the Visible Futures Lab at SVA, and discusses her research into algorithmic and high-frequency trading, and the role that technology plays in shaping the landscape of financial systems.

An artist and designer, Hoffman explores data visualization and implements digital fabrication to create physical 3D renderings of financial information, such as fluctuating stock market prices. She has exhibited at galleries and festivals including 3LD Art and Technology Center, 319 Scholes, Intersection for the Arts, Urban Prototyping, Athens Slingshot, University of Buffalo and the New York Hall of Science. Her work has appeared in Good, The Atlantic, Architizer and Gizmodo, and she has spoken at the Rhode Island School of Design, University of Georgia and SUNY Stonybrook, among other institutions.
