Neil Wehrle has been a design manager, interaction designer, and design educator for 20 years. He has an MDes in Interaction Design from Carnegie Mellon University and a BFA from the University of Iowa. He has previously been adjunct faculty at the New School University and the Fashion Institute of Technology, and lectured at Georgetown University.
Neil is specifically interested in how the past—the multiple roots of interaction design—are present in our current practice. Conventional histories of design are often a little too tidy, and he seeks to consider overlooked context and the accompanying social history of design and innovation.
During his career Neil has worked both at agencies and in-house, including roles at Razorfish, Yahoo!, and PayPal. He has built and managed research and design teams at multiple companies. He’s currently leading a team at Sumday, a small financial company inside of a big bank.
