Erica is a ‘voice above the clamor of big business’, advocating for the Local Living Economies movement. She teaches and facilitates communities around the world to shift from competition to collaboration. As a dancer and a poet, Erica believes that our personal gifts, when fully expressed, in are in genuine service to humanity.
As co-founding Director of the Good Work Institute, she developed and launched from inception Etsy’s Private Foundation through $3million IPO funding. She built the organization from its roots, with a focus on the design and delivery of a bioregional fellowship program.
She's led a mission-driven career working in US Microfinance, community economic development, entrepreneurial education, and organization and leadership development - all as pathways to building fair and joyful places where all people feel they can belong. As a fellow, she pioneered launch the microfinance platform Kiva in the US, ran business lending at Accion in NYC, and has coached and channeled access to capital for hundreds of enterprises.
She is a Fellow at The Royal Society of Arts in London, serves as Board of Directors for Third Millennium Alliance, is Coro Civic Leader in NYC, and is currently writing, producing, and directing a play about her family in Last Chance, CO.
