Mia Darling Ibáñez Risso made her way into Interaction Design through music, the arts, and a variety of cultures and languages. From a very early age, she sang in choirs, played the trombone in jazz bands, danced in local workshops, painted independently, and was involved in several theater productions. At Principia College, Mia majored in English Literature and Studio Art. She also studied Digital Media Production and The Language of Drawing in Greece and Turkey. Additionally, Mia participated in a Leatherback Sea Turtle expedition in Trinidad and Tobago.
After college, Mia lived in Uruguay for four years, where she developed and ran her own web design company. She created thousands of transformational online experiences for businesses worldwide. It is her core philosophy that every person has infinite potential, and with the right design strategy, one’s website can be a key step along his or her pathway toward success. Mia uses an imaginative and curiosity-driven approach, one that maximizes her background in the arts to create optimal digital interfaces.
In her free time, Mia can be found rollerblading, writing poetry, visiting art museums, or painting. She is fluent in Spanish and also speaks French and Portuguese.
