Beatriz Vizcaino

Class of 2011

Bio

Beatriz’s interest in design and people has grown through the years but has been present since she was a little kid, when she dreamed about being an architect. Her enthusiasm for shaping experiences led her to pursue a degree in Industrial Design, in her hometown Barranquilla, Colombia where she graduated with honors. During her undergrad years, she recognized the fascination she had for technology which finally influenced her decision to move to New York and work towards an Interaction Design MFA at the School of Visual Arts. Since her first semester as an Interaction Design student, Beatriz has always showed an interest in social issues and has constantly worked in projects related with Education, Wellness and Nutrition. During the past summer she had the opportunity to work at Moment Design an independent design studio in New York where she spent most of her time researching, concepting and wireframing for a mobile app designed to help chemotherapy patients manage their condition.

In her spare time Beatriz loves to cook, dance latin music, illustrate and read about food and health.
