It Takes Two

For creative blocks or studio stress, “It Takes Two” is a smart printer that outputs a random inspirational phrase or direction (in the spirit of Brian Eno’s “Oblique Strategies” or Jenny Holzer’s “Truisms”) — but only if the large buttons on either side have been pressed at the same time.  Since we placed the buttons too far apart for one person to press at the same time, the printer encourages frustrated creatives to ask a friend for help pushing the button. The printed message is just as inspirational as the conversation that takes place when one person asks another to engage the printer together.
