Using a Raspberry Pi, an Adafruit GPS unit, a small vibration motor and a database of ginkgo tree latitudes and longitudes, Stinkgo will warn the user of their proximity to a ginkgo tree by vibrating with increasing intensity as the user’s location approaches a tree’s geocoordinates. The data is sourced from NYC’s tree census, available via NYC Open Data. A full writeup exists at http://thingswemake.com/stinkgo/.
