Growing up with a love of illustration, Bowen started studying Communication Design at Monash University in Australia and thought she would become an artist or graphic designer. One thing, however, guided her to an alternative path: namely discovering she could make fun interactive art with code. Since then, Bowen continues to explore how static design can be turned into an engaging and participatory communication act that involves both the designer and the viewer.
Bowen believes that not only can the interaction designer provide a smooth and fun experience for the user, but that it is also the designer’s responsibility to contemplate the social consequences of her work.
She is eager to gain knowledge beyond her design background so that she can evaluate problems and provide solutions through a holistic lens.
