Yiting believes designers should challenge the issues of strategy, framework, values and worldviews. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Environment Design from Donghua University in Shanghai, she found herself interested in creating a dialogue between space and people’s needs. When Yiting realized that her goal as a designer was to improve people’s lives and to give them a life full of possibilities, she decided to change her major to interaction design.
Yiting draws inspiration by learning through experiences. With this in mind, she has worked various part-time jobs including teacher, salesperson, photographer, graphic designer, landscape design intern, and volunteer. By dabbling in different professions, she has been able to think and behave according to the needs of a given position. This gave her the opportunity to understand a broad range of fields, and to make practical designs to meet the needs of different “communities.”
Yuting is interested in modeling interaction by conducting qualitative and quantitative research into users’ behaviors, attitudes, and expectations.
In her free time, she plays video games to understand the real needs of game players and to understand the principle that attract players to games.
