Rachel Hsiung

Class of 2016

Bio

Rachel Hsiung is an ethnographer, a sociologist, an organizer, and an artist.

After studying sport sociology and gender at NYU, she moved to Brazil on a Fulbright fellowship to conduct ethnographic research on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athletes.

Her love for studying human behavior combined with her creative tendencies shortly after, when she discovered the field of UX design.

Having worked at various startups in both operational and product design capacities, she hopes to join SVA’s ranks of critical-thinking design leaders.

If you happen to meet her, just know she loves to draw caricatures, organize massive amounts of information, and practice speaking Portuguese.
